논문 작성을 위한 올바른 AI 사용법

요즘은 논문 투고할 때 온라인 투고 시스템에서 자동으로 유사도(표절) 검사를 하므로 표절 문제는 거의 없습니다. 유사도가 가끔 높게 나오기도 하는데 이전 실험 방법과 동일하거나 비슷한 주제로 후속 논문을 작성하는 경우입니다. 해당 연구분야에서 널리 사용되는 표현 방법과 전문용어도 유사도 산정에 포함되기 때문에 수치가 과대평가됩니다. 논문 전체적으로 유사도가 30%를 초과하지 않으면 별 문제가 없습니다. 혹시 이전 논문 문장을 그대로 가져오고 맨 뒤에 참고문헌만 추가하지 않았는지 검토하면 됩니다.    

 

그런데 앞으로 표절보다 문제될 수 있는 것이 AI로 작성한 문장입니다. 아래와 같이 ChatGPT에 간단한 스크립트를 입력하고 그럴듯한 논문 서론을 작성할 수 있습니다. 실제 논문 수준이 되기 위해서는 연구자가 직접 최신 연구동향과 참고문헌 등이 포함해야 하지만, 아래 정도의 흐름을 논문 초안 작성할 때 참고하면 상당히 도움이 될 수 있습니다.

그러므로 우리 연구실 학생들은 AI로 작성한 문장을 절대로 그대로 논문에 붙여 넣지 말고, 논문의 전체적인 흐름, 주요 내용 구성, 연구 방향과 향후 계획 등을 검토하고 영문 교정하는데 사용하세요. 만약, AI가 작성한 문장을 꼭 쓰고 싶다면 문장을 충분히 고쳐야 합니다.
