세계 최상위 2% 연구자

교수업적 평가를 하는데 가장 많이 사용되는 학술 DB 사이트 두 곳에서 매년 최상위 연구자 통계를 발표합니다.

클래리베이트에서는 상위 1% 연구자를 발표하고 있습니다. 2023년, 한국에서 65명이 선정되었고 UNIST는 9명으로 국내 대학에서 최상위권을 차지합니다. 선정된 교수님들의 전공이 대부분 화학과 화공에 몰려 있습니다.

엘스비어에서는 상위 2% 연구자를 발표합니다.

2023년 한국에서 1881명(국내 기관 소속 외국인 포함)이 선정되었습니다. UNIST에서는 33명이 선정되었습니다. 전임교원의 약 10% 정도 수치입니다. 아무래도 교원수가 적어서 전체 순위에서는 많이 밀렸습니다. 

 

상위 2%에 선정된 UNIST 교원 33명은 역시 대부분 화학과 화공 전공자들입니다. 우리학과에서는 저 포함해서 세 명이 선정되었습니다. 위의 Elsevier 링크에 있는 엑셀 파일에 그대로 공개된 자료이므로 실명도 공개합니다.

저는 세 연구분야(Environmental Sciences, Meteorology & Atmospheric Sciences, Earth & Environmental Sciences )로 평가를 받았습니다. 이 중에서 Earth & Environmental Sciences 분야로 분류된 명단만 뽑았습니다. 서울대 인원이 가장 많긴 하지만 전반적으로 특정대학에 편중되지 않았습니다. 아래 목록에 박사 지도교수님을 포함해 반가운 분들이 많습니다.
