샌디에고 주립대 학과 세미나

지난 금요일에 학과 세미나(Zoom 참석 포함)를 했습니다. 

한국이나 일반 학회 세미나와는 달리, 연구 결과 자체보다 한국의 일반적인 상황, 주력 산업, 산업단지 주변 상황, 앞으로 연구 방향 등을 종합적으로 제시하려고 노력했습니다. 미국 교수님들이나 대학원생들의 이해를 돕기 위해서 세부적인 연구결과 설명 등은 제외했습니다. 

 

질문도 많이 받았고, 많은 분들이 연구결과와 중요성에 공감해 주셨습니다. 국내 어느 대학 초청 세미나보다 더 재미있는 시간이었습니다. 역시 발표자는 청중이 호응해 주고 집중하면 신이 납니다.

Determination of priority monitoring areas for hazardous air pollutants in industrial cities based on measurement, modeling, and geographic information system

 

Major industrial complexes in South Korea are located near residential areas, leading to concerns regarding the health impact of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). To evaluate environmental exposure to HAPs, air samples have been collected during each season at limited locations. However, this approach posed challenges in determining the high-resolution spatial and temporal distribution of HAPs and their impact on human exposure at the city scale. To address these limitations, this study utilized existing measurement networks, machine learning, passive air sampling, atmospheric dispersion modeling, and GIS tools. Notably, it is anticipated that subsequent research can effectively prioritize monitoring areas for HAPs. As a result of this study, priority monitoring areas can be objectively selected, enabling more effective follow-up research.
